You don’t need a passport to have an exotic adventure. The Wilds, operated by the Columbus Zoo, offers up-close (and safe) animal encounters for the whole family just a short distance from Cambridge, Ohio. From painted dogs to graceful giraffes, The Wilds brings the African plain to Ohio.
This jaw-dropping 10,000-acre conservation center is one of the largest and most innovative wildlife conservation centers in the world. Visitors to The Wilds can board a guided safari vehicle to see and learn about the threatened and endangered species living in open-range habitats. The Wilds also offers hands-on activities for the youngest of guests at its Discovery Field Station (open Wednesdays-Sundays). Little explorers will enjoy the pretend animal check-ups, an arts and crafts station, gardening stations and discovery-based activities. This experience is FREE for guests who have booked a tour and offers an opportunity for children to make the experience all their own while they wait for their tour bus to arrive. Special overnight programs, summer camps and scout day programs are available throughout the year.
