Welcome to Ashtabula County OH…
Where Our Lake Awaits!

If you’ve not watched the sun set over Lake Erie after a day of swimming, paddle boarding, boating or jet skiing, then it is time to visit the 27 miles of shoreline in Ashtabula County OH.  Visit the longest covered bridge in the United States…and while you’re here visit the shortest one, too! There are 19 covered bridges in the county.

Lake Erie’s microclimate provides the perfect grape-growing conditions for the 22 wineries in the region. Think you’re not a wine-lover? Let us change your mind! Fish for steelhead trout in America’s #1 stream for the prized fish, unless walleye is your preference – charter a boat to the best waters for a catch.

Over a dozen campgrounds welcome guests every year, but there is more to do than just camp at our outdoors resources. The 27-mile Greenway trail is popular for jogging, horseback riding and snowmobiling. Bird watchers gather to find the rare species that migrate through our skies.

History buffs gather every August for the largest D-Day reenactment in the country as planes, boats and artillery come to life with thousands of living history reenactors. Visitors can find 81 barn quilts scattered throughout the countryside and the stories behind them.

Looking for a good old-fashioned festival? Check out the annual Grape Jamboree and stomp some grapes or test your watermelon eating skills at the Pymatuning Lake Festival at the state park.

So many more reasons to visit Ohio’s northeast corner!
