This winter season, a sip or two of some fine wine makes the winter blahs go away. To find a local winery, often you only have to search around your town or area locally, but if you cannot find one, a winery vacation this winter may be the perfect fix for wine enthusiasts! All over the U.S., more wineries than ever are open and happy for you to stop on by. Winemakers and winery owners are among some of the world’s most charming and fascinating people too. If you are thinking about planning a winery vacation with your spouse or partner or even just exclusively for your lady friends, check out Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, California, Oregon and Washington, for some of the most popular wineries around the USA. You can do wine tours and wine tastings and they often have fine restaurants as well! Some wineries even offer hotel rooms, spas, wine classes, catering, private parties, weddings, special events, a cozy tasting rooms, and picturesque walking grounds. Wineries offer a list of exquisite red and white wines for the season, made from fresh fruits like grape, apple, cherry, blueberry, peach and pear. Fruity merlots, full-bodied cabernets, iced wine, and crisp chardonnays are just a few of the dozens of varieties presented at these wineries too.

Here are some fab tips to visiting a winery. Find and bring an empty box with you – the reason? Trust us, you will go sample and then buy many bottles of wine during your visit, so a box will be super helpful to store them until you get home. It is highly recommended you designate a designated driver who will remain sober during the winery visit for safety reasons, or rent a car or limo and go with a group of friends. Plan on going early, especially on weekend visits because wineries tend to be packed and ultra busy. Be polite with the host. It often goes a long way to getting free samples! Try new types of drink samples you wouldn’t normally otherwise try too.

Wineries are never too far away so grab a glass and start sipping and enjoying!
