The festival’s name is inspired by the Japanese knotweed, an invasive plant that grows along the Conemaugh River. Instead of viewing it as a nuisance, the festival celebrates the spirit of community and enjoyment.
This year’s festival entails a parade, live performances, artisan/craft vendors, food trucks/booths, non-alcoholic and alcoholic vendors, kids’ activities, petting zoo, historical tours, and much more.
