Celebrate Smoky Mountain Springfest
Welcome Spring to East Tennessee and celebrate nature’s rebirth in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville. Smoky Mountain Springfest is jam packed with special events and activities for the whole family! Three months of fun-filled activities will keep your family entertained. Colorful wildflowers paint the peaks and valleys of the nearby Great Smoky Mountains – flowering baskets, planters and Springfest banners line the streets and parkway – welcoming visitors the moment they enter the cities.
Special events to celebrate Spring are planned throughout the Smokies. In Pigeon Forge, A Mountain Quiltfest™ one of the city’s most popular annual events, which includes a large quilt show, quality vendors and instructional classes. The annual Dolly Parade in April winds through the streets of Pigeon Forge and is one of the best, with Dolly Parton as the grand marshal. More than 60,000 parade watchers gather for the spectacle. The parade coincides with the season opening of Dollywood Entertainment Park and its annual Festival of Nations.
Gatlinburg hosts the Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament and Gatlinburg Smoky Mountain Wine Fest with wines from Tennessee wineries along with small dish fare from some of the best restaurants in the Smoky Mountains. The Mountain Man Memorial March has become one of the largest events in the United States to celebrate their service and honor the ultimate sacrifice of the fallen heroes. The 26.2-mile march in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee is an emotional tribute to our men and women in uniform. Enjoy the Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show, Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage and take part in the beautiful early morning Easter Service at Ober Gatlinburg at 6:30 a.m. It includes complimentary tram service to the top of the resort. Other activities include Earth Week, Earth Day 5k and Gatlinburg’s Beans and Cornbread Festival.
Sevierville has their own calendar of special events to celebrate springtime. Visit the Corvette Auction & Expo at the Sevierville Expo Center; the Tennessee Goldwing Road Riders Association Rally & Show at the Sevier County Fairgrounds; and the Circle Yer Wagens 33 VW Show and Swap Meet. The minor league baseball team, Tennessee Smokies, takes the field hosting several home games beginning in April. You can always count on great Southern League baseball action, special promotional giveaways and fan activities. Smokies at the Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass festival in downtown Sevierville gives you a real taste of authentic down-home barbecue, bluegrass concerts, kid’s games, mountain crafts and more.
