Cheers from an old-time baseball game will fill the air as the Sauder Village Windmills, the Great Black Swamp Frogs, and the Elkhart County Railroaders gather for a Vintage Base Ball Tournament at Sauder Village. Games will be played using rules from the 1860s and children will have a chance to run the bases between the games. This special event is sure to be a hit with families throughout the region!

There is a chill in the air as summer gives way to fall and the farm starts preparing for harvest. Years ago, food preservation was an essential activity for families on the farm. Join us for Fall on the Farm to explore the many ways our ancestors sustained themselves throughout the year. Activities include pumpkin decorating, butter making, and many food preservation activities. Visit the farm animals and experience fun activities in our Nature Center too!

The Sauder Village Woodcarver’s Show & Sale is a special weekend filled with unique artistry. Founder’s Hall will feature skilled carvers showcasing handcrafted wildlife, fish, birds, caricatures, bowls, plaques, ornaments, pens and so much more. Special guest artist Alec LaCasse will be demonstrating and teaching workshops. The show features vendor tables with carving supplies, woodcarving demonstrations and exhibit only displays.

As you take a stroll down Main Street, enjoy a 1920s Christmas at Sauder Village. We will be “decking the halls” of our Main Street with holiday lights, 1920s window décor, and a 20 foot Christmas Tree! Learn about holiday activities at the hardware store, bank, clothing store, jewelry, and other shops along Main Street! Take a train or trolley ride (weather permitting), watch a short holiday film, and visit the animals in the livery. Enjoy hot cider and cocoa, doughnuts, and other tasty treats for sale at the Soda Fountain and help welcome Santa as he rides down Main Street on a vintage fire truck. What better way to welcome in the fall season than with a week dedicated to apples! Sauder Village will be highlighting this favorite fall fruit throughout the week with special apple-themed recipes in our historic homes and hands-on apple activities for all ages to enjoy. Visitors will be able to visit our 150-year-old cider mill and guests will want to stop by the Doughbox Bakery to take home some delicious apple treats!

Have you ever wondered how a sheep’s wool is transformed into your favorite sweater or warm wooly mittens? Artisans from throughout the region will gather to demonstrate and share their love of fiber arts. Guests will be able to watch spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, and tatting demonstrations. There will be fiber exhibits, looms, and spinning wheels on display, hands-on activities, and dying wool demonstrations.

Monarchs & More Family Fun Day at Sauder Village

From monarchs, bees and birds to composting, water quality, wildlife and wetlands . . . the Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District and Sauder Village are pleased to present this new event for families to enjoy! Join us for a day of fun, nature-themed demonstrations, and information shared by many regional partners. Monarchs & More Family Day activities will be held at Little Lake Erie from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

NOTE: The Historic Village is not open on Sunday. All activities for the Monarchs & More Family Fun Day will be held near Little Lake Erie at Sauder Village!
