To celebrate the importance of glass in Lancaster’s history, the community creates beautiful pieces of glass art throughout the year and joins together for a fun party on New Year’s Eve! Enjoy the free, family-friendly street party at Zane Square in downtown Lancaster where you can explore local shops and restaurants. Drink delicious hot chocolate or carry a drink within the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA); then capture the memory with a photo next to the glass globe. Make sure to stick around till midnight as we start the new year off with a bang– a fabulous fireworks show!

As one of the biggest parties of the year at Buckeye Lake, join Benny the Bass before the sun rises to see if he “takes the bait” and predicts an early spring or refuses, which means 6 more weeks of winter! Regardless, celebrate Winterfest with fireworks, activities around the lake, live music, art shows, food and drink specials, food trucks, and more – held every year on the last Saturday in January. Fireworks kick off the event at the Buckeye Lake Brewery, located in Licking County, with live music, events, and more happening all around the area surrounding the lake, including Fairfield County and Perry County.

Known as the Scarecrow Capital of Ohio, the Trail of Scarecrows is an autumn celebration held throughout Fairfield County every October. During this event, both tourists and locals will be visiting different communities across the county and voting for their favorite scarecrow! These unique scarecrows are created by local businesses, organizations, and individuals, and have become an annual tradition for most. Stop by and see over a hundred unique scarecrow displays throughout the county!

Wands & Wizards Weekend is an annual event that happens in Fairfield County, Ohio. During this magical weekend, businesses and organizations across the county celebrate all things enchanting and mystical with specials and events. Visit a local restaurant to sample some specially brewed potion drinks, enjoy a scavenger hunt to find fantastical creatures, or enroll in a class to create your own wand. The possibilities are endless!
