Though several sites remain closed and many events have been postponed, Northwest PA’s Oil Region has so many safe, socially distanced activities for family fun.
The first commercial oil well was drilled here in 1859, putting us on the map as “the Valley that Changed the World.” You can learn about the historic changes that took place here through the 80+ interpretive panels that dot our city streets and rec trails. The whole region is like one big museum — a museum that you can bike, hike, paddle and fish your way through!
