Experience Elk in a Natural Setting in Pennsylvania’s Elk Country

The Elk Country Visitor Center is the premier location for seeing elk in their natural setting. Located in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Elk Country, it is the home to the largest elk herd in the northeastern United States. The Visitor Center provides year-round opportunities to see and hear these animals from viewing areas and our indoor Great Room.

The Visitor Center was designed for visitors of all ages. It offers interactive panels and educational displays rich with wildlife knowledge. The Great Room features hands-on exhibits, indoor observation area and a cozy fireplace where guests can gather and relax. The 21st annual music festival, featuring live classic rock, oldies, and country music. Food, arts and craft vendors, daily auctions and the annual double elimination cornhole tournament. A 14-mile trail race in the heart of the PA Wilds. This course consists of some of the Eastern States 100 trails in Sproul State Forest. This is a runner-only event and has a strict 4.5 hour time limit. Sponsored by the PA Trail Dogs. patraildogs.com

Water St. and on the Susquehanna River, Lock Haven. Starting Friday at 6pm and running through Labor Day evening. The 50th annual boat regatta and street festival, hosted by the Lock Haven Area Jaycees. American Power Boat Association-sanctioned racing Saturday, Sunday and Monday on the Susquehanna River, this event is billed as the largest power boat race in the United States and has been recognized as the best race site in the country!
