The festival’s name is inspired by the Japanese knotweed, an invasive plant that grows along the Conemaugh River. Instead of viewing it as a nuisance, the festival celebrates the spirit of community and enjoyment.

This year’s festival entails a parade, live performances, artisan/craft vendors, food trucks/booths, non-alcoholic and alcoholic vendors, kids’ activities, petting zoo, historical tours, and much more.

Graduate Commencement for Master’s and Doctoral Degrees is on Friday. Undergraduate Ceremonies is on Saturday.

May Mart has proceeds going toward scholarship and community beautification. We have a variety of plants, gardening items, vendors, and food.

Wear a sweater like Mr. Rogers and join Ed Patterson & Barb Hauge to celebrate his life and legacy. On our walk we will learn about the significance that Buttermilk Falls played in shaping the outlook of Fred Rogers of children’s television fame.

The free jazz and blues festival annually features a lineup that includes nationally and internationally known artists, regional acts, and student musicians playing in a classic American small town.

The Children’s Advisory Commission is sponsoring a fun day at Blue Spruce Park. Entire families are welcome: outside hiking & biking, live animals, games, fishing, chances to win prizes, and many more outside activities.

At 1PM in the Gazebo the Indiana County Decathlon committee will draw prizes for participants who signed up at Decathlon events, and those who posted their photos to the Facebook “Indiana County Walking Decathlon” page with #ICDecathon2024

Our sojourn showcases the entire river valley in a spectacular four day, 44-mile float on the Stonycreek, Conemaugh, and Kiskiminetas Rivers. From Johnstown to Apollo, we’ll paddle through breathtaking vistas each day and camp each night. The sojourn will take us through deep river gorges, with views of historic canal remnants and wildlife along the way. All skill levels are welcome!

This year we’ll be celebrating our love for the earth, as we welcome guest speakers each day who will share what inspired their love of the outdoors, and how that love manifests in their volunteer and/or professional life. You may get a chance to share your story, as well!

After registering, all participants will receive an information packet with detailed itinerary, directions, and everything you need to know to participate. Register for just one day or join us for a weekend in the great outdoors!
