Clinton County PA –
Specializing in Wide Open (Fun, Safe) Spaces!

In Clinton County, PA, COVID has changed the way we do business, but not what we have to offer. And what we have to offer is thousands of acres of state park, forest and game lands and the West Branch Susquehanna River – lots of wide open, fun, safe spaces for you to come and enjoy the outdoors in all four seasons.

Less than a half-day drive from most points in the east brings you here to experience all kinds of outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, ATV riding, kayaking, hunting and fishing.

Two scenic byways offer sweeping views as you wind your way through rural back roads and state forest lands. Keep an eye peeled for deer, eagles, bear and elk. Travel up to the top of Hyner Mountain to Hyner View State Park for one of the most breathtaking overlooks in Pennsylvania.

Six state parks and several private campgrounds offer gorgeous views and places to picnic, rustic and RV camping, cabin stays and wildlife viewing, and access to hiking, biking, equestrian and ATV trails.

You won’t find the big-city-life in Clinton County. Our county seat, Lock Haven (population under 10,000) is the only city, surrounded by small-town municipalities where people live a laid-back lifestyle and appreciate the fresh air, the mountains and the valleys.

We are home to the Woolrich Store, featuring rugged outdoor apparel. Visit the Piper Aviation Museum where you can see Pennsylvania’s state aircraft, the J-3 Piper Cub. Stroll downtown Lock Haven’s Main Street, the county’s retail hub, where you can browse through specialty shops and stop for a craft brew or burger. Take a walk along the City’s RiverWalk, a 4.5-mile walkway atop a dike and levee system that protects the town from flooding, with the Susquehanna to your one side and the City’s historic district on the other. Learn about the area’s history at the Heisey Museum, a Victorian era house museum.

Spread throughout the county are country shops including Amish shops in the Sugar Valley area offering hand-sewn quilts, produce and Amish-made furniture. The shops in Bald Eagle and Nittany Valleys and nearby Pine Creek Valley have a great selection of seasonal décor, arts and crafts.

Visit our website or call for places of interest, trail maps, a calendar of events or our lodging and dining guide. We welcome you – come get to know and love the wide open, fun, safe spaces in Clinton County, PA. Offering the outdoors and so much more!
