Cider. Wine. Beer. They’re All Here on the
Hendersonville Cheers! Trail

A visit to the Blue Ridge Mountain town of Hendersonville provides more than just a vibrant downtown and lots of outdoor adventure. It offers the chance to sip beer, wine and hard cider on the Hendersonville Cheers! Trail. The trail is one of North Carolina’s best, featuring 15 craft producers offering a variety of experiences. Sierra Nevada’s tasting room is one of the largest on the East Coast and features an expansive patio and outdoor amphitheater, while Bold Rock Hard Cider has emerged as a national leader in the hard cider industry and regularly hosts live music (indoors and outdoors), along with cidery tours and a food truck.

Several craft producers on the trail create small-batch beverages prized for their quality and originality. Three breweries – Southern Appalachian, Triskelion and Guidon – are within a few blocks of each other in the Depot District, while Sanctuary Brewing Co. is only a few blocks away on Main Street. Sanctuary is pet-friendly with a commitment to pet rescue.

Speaking of Main Street, Flat Rock Ciderworks, the area’s first cidery, has a taproom on Main Street, which is only appropriate because Hendersonville and Henderson County produce the most apples in North Carolina and are in the top 10 nationally in that category. Appalachian Ridge Artisan Ciders is the newest cidery in Hendersonville, crafting European dry ciders from a renovated 1940s-era barn surrounded by an orchard.

Three wineries produce high-quality wines from European varietals. The newest – Point Lookout Vineyards – is located atop a 3,000-foot mountain with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, the area’s first vineyard, is on farmland that’s been in the family for more than nine generations. And two miles away, Burntshirt Vineyards offers tastings in its renovated farmhouse overlooking rolling hills of vines.
