SC Lowcountry…Naturally Amazing

What defines a place? Is it the history etched on monuments or the unique dishes created by its passionate cooks? Maybe it is the way the forces of nature carve out rivers and shift the sands. We believe it is all of these things and countless more, all embodied in the welcoming smiles and heartfelt stories of the people who live here. We are happy to welcome you to our home and hope it becomes one of your treasured places.

We are a land steeped in American history. Traditions. And Gullah culture.  A place full of tidal marshes, meandering streams, and sandy beaches. Saltwater and sea breezes. Secret fishing spots and dolphin sightings. Sunrises over the ocean and sunsets over the river. We move in pure harmony with wildlife, and our lifestyle moves at its own serene pace.

This is where ancient Oaks draped in Spanish moss seem to tell long-forgotten stories. Local shops hold both antique and new treasures waiting to be discovered. And oyster roasts, barbecue joints, and Lowcountry boils bring us together.

The Lowcountry covers four counties: Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton and Colleton. From our inland treasures to the coastal beaches, the area offers an abundance of things to see and do. We provide plenty of places to wet a hook, paddle a kayak or make a splash. Hunters, birdwatchers, antiques seekers, golf enthusiasts, beach bums, foodies, history buffs and art lovers all find a reason to spend time with us.

Come join us for festivals to celebrate proud culture, music, soft-shell crabs, shrimp, oysters, watermelons, boiled peanuts and more. Stay a while and enjoy lodging options from resorts and beach-front cottages to hotels and campgrounds.

During your visit, be sure to stop by our welcome center at Frampton House, off I-95 in Yemassee. We have helpful brochures and a gift shop with local books, art and more. Our staff will help you make the most of your time in the Lowcountry.

Come see why all of this and so much more is just in our nature. Come see why we’re… Naturally Amazing
