There’s plenty of history to explore in Queen Anne’s County, the first permanent English settlement in what would become Maryland. The County is home to numerous historical sites that tell the story of the region’s rich heritage such as the Queen Anne’s County Courthouse, a stunning colonial-era building that has been in continuous use since 1796 and the bronze statue of Queen Anne—the only known statue of the queen outside of England that graces the courtyard.
