Nearby Malabar Farm State Park is also a great place to visit in the off-season. The working farm has tours of their 32-room Big House, built by fames author Louis Bromfield. They also have 12 miles of trails for hikers and horseback riding. Rent cross country skis at the Farm’s Visitor Center. As weather permits, ice fish on the house pond and on nearby Pleasant Hill Lake.

The Mohican State Park Forest also allows hunting, in season. A valid Ohio hunting license is required and can be purchased at a local store. D & D Lodge offers hunting packages.
