Love Food? Travel to New York City for Food Festivals This Fall

Fall in New York City not only brings restaurant openings, fashion week and more shows than you can count, it also means plenty of fun food festivals that you won’t want to miss. Whether you’ve been to New York City five times before or this will be your first visit, plan your vacation around one of these fabulous events for a full-filled trip.

October 1-2: Great World Beer Festival: Sample drafts beer from over 80 breweries during this 2-day drink-fest for $63 a person.

October 10: A Taste of What’s to Come: Snack on different offerings from up-and-coming local producers including Beth’s Farm Kitchen and Cayuga Pure Organics during this afternoon event, then stay for a panel discussion about the taste and nutrition. The tasting and panel takes place from 3:00pm-9:00pm and costs $79 per person.

October 17: Brooklyn Bacon Takedown: Chow down on delicious cuisine provided by self-taught cooks who bring their pork creations to compete for money, prizes and bragging rights. The event is hosted by Matt Timms, founder and host of Chili Takedown. The event takes place from 4:00pm-6:00pm and costs just $15. Want to get an idea of what the event is going to be like? November 11-14: The Chocolate Show: Do you have a major sweet tooth? Sample and purchase a variety of chocolate delicacies at the annual event. Tickets are $30 at the door, $28 in advance.

November 12-14: The Alchemy of Taste and Smell: This weekend-long event features classes and meals at the Astor Center in NYC. Find out how what we smell impacts what we taste from food-experts Johnny Iuzzini and Audrey Saunders.
