October is the perfect month to vacation to Toronto, Canada. The leaves are changing and the scenery is breathtaking. If you are planning a trip, a fun fall activity for the whole family is a day of pumpkin picking. Toronto has plenty of places to go and you’ll have tons of fun carving and decorating your pumpkins afterward. Before you set off on your journey, keep these 3 things in mind.
1. Always call ahead to make sure the pumpkin patch is open. You don’t want to arrive to a closed pumpkin farm and then have to deal with a car full of disappointed kids!
2. Wear comfortable clothes. Keep in mind that you’ll be on your knees picking pumpkins, so expect to get a little dirty. Wear loose, comfy clothing and tennis shoes or boots.
3. Remember that not all pumpkin farms are pick-your-own. Pick-your-own farms are more fun for the kids, so call ahead to be safe.
Don’t forget to pick extra pumpkins so you can prepare your favorite pumpkin recipe, whether it be roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin soup or pumpkin pie. For a list of the best pumpkin patches to visit during your vacation to Canada, visit Toronto.com.
