Seneca Caverns in Riverton, WV is  part of the scenic Germany Valley area.  Seneca Caverns first opened its doors in 1928 making it the first show cave in West Virginia. The first tours were done by lantern and it was not until 1930 that lights were installed. A second cave is also on the property, called The Stratosphere Cave. It was only partially developed and has no electricity, but tours are offered for those who feel adventurous
Seneca offers a variety of guided tours most leaving every 30 minutes. Specialty tours include Wild Cave tours, photo tours, and science tours for schools and groups.
