Most people who are unfamiliar with the state don’t envision it as an exciting vacation getaway spot. However, you may be surprised! Here are some of the more unique places to visit and adventures you can experience when you travel in Indiana.

Monastery Immaculate Conception – Ferdinand
This historic monastery, built in 1867, offers tours of their grounds. Enjoy serene gardens, a labyrinth, and beautiful architecture. There is also a gift shop and bakery on the premises. You can even stay overnight, and visit some of the area’s nearby attractions, including Abraham Lincoln’s boyhood home, and nearby caves.

Squire Boone Caverns – Corydon
Heralded as “America’s Most Spectacular Underground Adventure,” tours of Squire Boone Caverns take you past rivers and waterfalls, beautiful geological structures, and other marvels. There is also a nearby gristmill and a rock shop.

John Dillinger Museum – Nashville
When you travel in Indiana, make sure to check out this museum, which displays many artifacts and tells the history of famous gangster John Dillinger. Full of unique displays, including a wax figure of Dillinger on a morgue table and his first tombstone.
