Behalt, the 265-ft. painted mural-in-the-round, attracts visitors world-wide to the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center in Berlin, Ohio. One of only three in the United States, the cyclorama is the masterpiece of the late international artist Heinz Gaugel.

In a guided tour, visitors learn the story of the Amish and Mennonites as presented on the colorful mural. The oil-on-canvas painting uses distinctive artistic techniques of line and color to illustrate multiple stories within a vast timeline.

In addition, guests enjoy a video introduction to the region, home of world’s largest Amish community. A Pioneer Barn with restored Conestoga wagon and a one-room schoolhouse presenting Amish education are also offered. The bookstore, gift shop and displays support the study of heritage and culture.
