During winter, the county often experiences a serene blanket of snow, turning our landscapes into picturesque scenes. A fun way to stay active and embrace the winter weather, try outdoor ice skating at the Anderson City Ice Rink or enjoy the crisp air and quiet trails at Mounds State Park, where you will spot birds and other wildlife in its natural habitat. Mounds State Park features 10 earthworks built by prehistoric Indians known as the Adena-Hopewell people. The largest earthwork, the Great Mound, is believed to have been constructed around 160 B.C.
