Having a pool at the accommodation or lodging you are staying at during your vacation, especially an indoor swimming pool, is just one of those amenities that most guests expect to enjoy, even if they don’t use it. Pools can be indoors or outdoors, can be heated or not. For lodging located in the northern states, many vacationers enjoy a deep indoor heated hotel pool during cold winter months, to help shake off the winter blues. In fact, many residents of northern states will often stay in a nice hotel for a weekend with family and the kids just to have fun in a heated indoor hotel pool. A pool is a certain enjoyment or luxury. If you enjoy swimming for personal health, or if you have children with you during your lodging stay, a pool is a nice amenity. It helps improve a child’s swimming ability, and allows them to expend excess energy, and for just plain family fun!
If your accommodation has a pool, ask them if they have changing facilities by the pool or if you need to change in your room first. If the hotel says there’s changing areas at/near the swimming pool, ask about lockers. Some you may need to bring a coin, others they’ll swap for a room key. Others still offer somewhere to change at the pool, but no lockers, so either you then leave your stuff on a lounger / chair where you can see it, or you change in your room anyway. Ask too if they provide towels by the pool or if you should bring your own from your room. If the hotel tells you to change in your room, there normally (at nicer hotels) will be a bathrobe in the room. Get changed, put that on top, take a towel if needed, and head on down to the pool. Some hotels may have a bar at the pool, or a bar near the pool area. Some may have a restaurant instead or some may do poolside food or drink service. It all varies from place to place. Go when you book your next vacation, ask your lodging if they have a pool too and enjoy it!
