Outdoor lovers will have plenty of scenic locales to keep them occupied in Indiana. The Indiana Caverns is part of the longest cave system in Indiana, and one of the longest in the U.S. At more than 40 miles, the Indiana Caverns gives visitors the chance to see ice age fossils dating back at least 40,000 years, and it includes a waterfall and underground boat ride. For those who love animals and believe in animal conservation, head on over to one of Indiana’s zoos, including Indianapolis Zoo, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, the Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden, or the Washington Park Zoo. It’s just one many Indiana attractions you can see if you make your way to this Midwest state.

For visitors looking to take in the local scenery, McCormick’s Creek State Park is the perfect place for Indiana travel. Visitors can enjoy swimming, picnicking and explore the staffed nature center. The park also offers camping and lodging for people looking to enjoy the great outdoors a little longer. There are local, state and national parks all over the state, which offer something for everyone for all ages, no matter the interests. Don’t forget to visit Turkey Run State Park, where one of the ravines takes you on a trip through time, because the sandstone gorges represent 600 to 300 million years of nature’s handiwork. And at Pokagon State Park, natural lakes abound and the park borders on Lake James and Snow Lake which offer abundant opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing. And in the wintertime, play on their wild toboggan track too!

And of course, your Indiana travel would not be complete without a stop at the famous Indiana Dunes at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Located along the southern tip of Lake Michigan, the dunes are one of the hottest Indiana tourist attractions, bringing millions of visitors each year. The 1.5-mile challenge trail is the toughest in the park, with 552 vertical feet to climb. The reward are absolutely breathtaking views. You will have a wonderful time exploring the world-class beaches, as well as hiking and biking along the scenic trails.

During your stay in Indiana, take a trip back in time with some of the many historic destinations throughout the state. The Carnegie Center for Art and History is home to one of the best local history and contemporary art museums in the country. The Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science contains one of the most established collections of art, history, anthropology and science all under one roof. Indiana attractions can be educational, too! And Fort Wayne is known for being a budget friendly spot, with affordable hotels and motels and lots of things to do and see, like ballet and gardens and museums abound here!

And don’t forget to stop by the Connor Prairie Interactive History Park! As the sole Smithsonian affiliate in Indiana, the park features five outdoor living-history experiences, and four indoor interactive exhibits, including a helium balloon on 800 acres.
Indiana travel offers more to visitors than just scenic vistas and historic experiences. For the entertainment lover, Indiana offers a wealth of fun and exciting destinations. From casinos to theaters, horseback riding to kayaking, five-star resorts to ma-and-pa bed-and-breakfasts, people of all ages and with all budgets will find plenty of Indiana attractions to keep them entertained.
So head to Indiana with an open mind and an open schedule. Whatever your taste, Indiana travel has something for you. When planning your next vacation, let the natural beauty and exciting locales of Indiana draw you in and let GuestQuest be your guide. Your Indiana vacation starts here.
