To learn more about Maryland’s history, be sure to stop by the town of Hagerstown. This city is the site of the American Revolutionary War and the crossroads of the Civil War. It is home to South Mountain State Battlefield, Antietam National Battlefield, and the July 1863 Battle of Hagerstown. This entire county also has a rich cultural scene. Hagerstown’s Arts & Entertainment District is the sight of the Maryland Theatre, offering events and performances year-round, including many Maryland Symphony Orchestra concerts. Hagerstown is also home to the Western Maryland Blues Fest.
