While many people flock to popular travel destinations, vacation hot spots are not for everyone. Sometimes you want to visit the road less traveled and get away from crowds of tourists. Barnwell County is a beautiful and scenic destination, full of history and cultural heritage. It is part of the Rivers, Rails, and Crossroads region of the SC Heritage Corridor.
One place you’ll want to visit while in Barnwell County is God’s Acre Healing Springs, located just outside of Blackville. This history and legend of this natural spring date back to 1771, where wounded British soldiers were nursed back to health with water from the spring. Today, people visit the spring to fill up water bottles and jugs, believing the spring’s water still holds healing powers.

Aside from being a beautiful city full of culture and attractions, Greenville has one landmark that really sets it apart from other American cities. Just west of downtown, you’ll find Falls Park on the Reedy, with beautiful gardens, nature trails, and waterfalls flowing right through the city.
