- Comments Off on Discover the Mystifying Art of Glass Blowing
Expressions of art are created in many mediums. Down through the ages, one of the most mystifying has been the art of glass blowing. Ron Hinkle’s fascination with the infinite possibilities of glass inspired him to create beautiful works of art and establish Ron Hinkle Glass.
Discover history and be entertained with family oriented fun! Techniques are used at Ron Hinkle Glass that have been handed down for centuries from master craftsmen from around the world. Hand crafted glass comes to life through the use of a variety of tools in the hands of master craftsman Ron Hinkle. The Azalea Path Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, a nonprofit and privately-owned facility, is nestled on the Gibson/Pike County border in southwestern Indiana. What began with 15 acres and a few azaleas and perennials in 1979 has grown to include over 60 acres and more than 3,000 azaleas plus a large variety of unusual plants and native Indiana trees. Two spring-fed lakes, a waterfall, a koi pond and several unique sculptures complement the beautifully landscaped trails, which wind throughout the grounds.
Beverly Knight, along with her husband, Steve, became inspired by the gardens she encountered as a driver for UPS and eventually began collecting starts of plants and trees from customers on her routes. Thus began what is now one of the largest collections of azaleas in the Midwest. In 2011, the Azalea Path was honored to host the national convention of the [...]
